Kwara Campus Poetry Championship
“Gender Relations, Social Responsibility and Shared Nation Building”
The Kwara Campus Poetry Championship (KCPC) is a flagship literary and youth development initiative designed to identify, nurture and showcase outstanding poetic talents across tertiary institutions in Kwara State.
The maiden edition is themed “Gender Relations, Social Responsibility and Shared Nation Building”, and seeks to inspire young people to deploy creativity, literature, performance and critical thinking as instruments for responsible leadership, civic engagement, peaceful coexistence and sustainable national development.
The championship runs as two major events: a capacity-building workshop in creative writing, performance poetry and spoken word, followed three weeks later by the grand championship and public literary event. Both are hosted at the Ilorin Innovation Hub, G.R.A., Ilorin, and bring students together with some of the most significant voices in African letters.
